It is so nice to able to open the door without using two hands as well as being able to open the window and not be concerned about getting it closed. Or having to go ask your neighbors for help!

Home Improvements

I have slowly been changing and adding some things to my condo:

Sunken Boat in Lake Washington

Saturday, I went out with some friends on Lake Washington. We didn't end up very far, because a boat had sank over night in the marina. We floated near the action to watch them bring the boat back to the surface.
The back of the boat was resting on the bottom of the lake, so all you saw from shore was the bow of the boat.
As we floated and watched this happening, we began taking bets on the boat length and brand
Starting to emerge, but still filled with lots of water. This is when they began pumping the water from the inside to help get it above water level.
Those inflated bags helped get this boat out from the bottom of the lake. Later we all went to the wine tasting event in the marina "Kirkland Uncorked" and heard that it cost $3,000 to pull this boat out of the water...wow!

Oil Spill Benefit/Charity Event

Last night I went to the Columbia Tower Club for a Charity Event for the Oil Spill. I ran into an old high school friend...hard to believe we hadn't seen each other in ten years! Erin was volunteering for her friends organization, running last nights event. Erin has been involved since the spill and even started her own organization for fund raising. She is trying to raise $15,000 in the next five weeks, before she heads to New Orleans to lend a hand.
It was a beautiful night to be on the 75th floor of the tallest building in Seattle!

M's Game

It was a gorgeous day/evening at Safeco Field...high 80's, low 90's!

What a great view

The Mariner Moose made an appearance and nearly gave Leslie a panic attack

It was Griffey hat night, so Leslie and I fashioned the backwards look

Penny with Danielle in her wonderful work seats!
Happy Birthday Cara...name on the big screen and even a ball from one of the Yankee Coaches. Can't beat that!

Champagne Measurements

May never use these, but you never know....

2 bottles of champagne = 1 magnum
2 magnums = 1 methuselah
8 magnums = 1 balthazar
10 magnums = 1 nebuchadnezzar

That's a lot of Champagne!!!

Only the good stuff!! :)

Bro's Graduation

My younger brother Andrew graduated June 18th from Lake Washington Technical College. He got his degree in Welding and Fabrication. Within a week he had interviewed for a job and got it....congratulations!! He is working for a company in Ballard that makes boats for the Coast Guard and Marines.

Rafting the Sauk River

We all met at the South Kirkland Park-n-Ride at 8:30am to caravan up North to Darrington. We arrived a little early, so we decided to visit a local garage sale...sad to report, no one bought anything! We met up with our guides at the trading post at 11am and followed them to the end point on the Sauk River. We were given our wetsuits, booties, helmets and life jackets.

They we traveled by bus/shuttle to the start point and enjoyed a nice picnic lunch. After some instruction and safety guidelines, it was time to put the boats in the water.

We where off to a good start, or so we thought. During the first rush of water (our guide later told us it isn't considered a rapid) our guide fell out of the boat, so we were on our own. Luckily Eric noticed and told the rest of us and they he began yelling out commands. We got through it and over to the side and Sumit extended his paddle to Katie. With Katie (our guide)back in the boat, we could continue on.

I was overwhelmed and scared when we began on the river. But after about ten minutes, my adrenalin kicked in and I was having a great time. I can't wait to go rafting on another river! Hopefully the Titan in September. :)

House "Condo" Warming Party

The "Condo" Warming was a success! Great friends and lots of food and drinks...what else can you ask for? BBQ + lawn games + Sangria = good Saturday afternoon!

If you eat the stuffed mushrooms too quickly and spill the juices on your shirt...I have a Starbucks apron on hand. I never worked as a barista, however my friend Jordan from college did. I was the lucky one to end up with this after he moved!

What a great combination...ice cream sandwiches and champagne! :)

It was very nice to get all these lovely cards and well wishes from everyone! I am so glad everyone came and had a good time, I really wanted to share this grown-up step in my life.
